I had a Computer Science exam on Wednesday. I studied HARD for that, like no other. Stayed up til the wee hours of the morning trying to remember this programming language.
Well, come test time, the teacher passes out the tests and I'm anxiously ready to get started. Usually when I do tests like these that aren't multiple choice, I take the first couple of minutes to skim through the entire test to get a good feel of what it's about. That way, if I come across a problem that might be too difficult to remember but I may still have it fresh in my mind from cramming, I'll go ahead and do that question and get it outta the way.
Well, I start skimming and eventually, I find that I actually know (or think I know) every question on there! Sometimes, non-multiple choice tests have questions where you don't have a CLUE what the answer is or even how to start it. But this one, I zoomed through all of it easily, not wanting to cool down.
I was on fire, word to the NBA Jam video game when a player gets hot and can't miss a shot.
In the end, I still didn't know if this was reality. Was it this easy? It can't be, right? Usually, when people get too confident or arrogant on exams, they usually end up eating crow cuz they end up failing or something lol.
Well, when I walked out of that room, I dunno if I was feelin the swagger I should have been feeling. You know, that feeling you get when you know you did well on a test, like this time
Grades haven't been posted yet so we must wait.
Reunited and it feels soooo goood
In other news, I GOT MY CAR BACK!!!! WHOOHOOO!!!
(I guess that will be the Song of the Day too lol. Peaches and Herbs "Reunited")
It's been so long. And DIFFICULT. It was a rough feeling, going downstairs to the parking lot every day as I was leaving for class and not seeing my car there. It was like a part of me was missing.
Man, alright I realize my car is old and not the prettiest. But it works. And it runs pretty well **knock on wood** I'm sticking with it too. Not gonna buy a new car til I finish college and get a job. Whenever that may be :-\ Times are hard. The economy is rough. I gotta manage my money carefully!
American Idol
One of my favorite shows is in full swing. The top 13 looks legit I guess. Group Three was by far the best group and I'm just a little disappointed in how they divided the contestants up. Group 1 was terrible, you could pretty much predict who was going to make it out of that group. Group 2 was average. Some decent people, no one special. Group 3 was overall, very nice and I think some people in that group could have had a better chance if they were in another group.
But I guess that's just how the cookie crumbles **shrugs**
Now that we're seeing the live show, we're getting a chance to see how the four judges work together. I'm a fan of the new judge Kara and I think she knows her stuff but I'm definitely seeing why critics are saying four judges is overkill. It takes WAY too long to get through all their comments after every performance now, especially when most of em just piggy-back of each other. We'll see how it goes.
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon debuted this week, taking over for Conan. His first couple of episodes were a WRECK. I was disappointed in how bad the show was. I can understand him being nervous and all but come on, he had no swagger or confidence AT ALL. He's a comedian. This isn't his first time being in front of an audience, in front of millions of viewers. But dude was so flat.
His monologues were terrible. On his first show, I wish he had spent more time on talking about himself, the process of taking over, the advice people have given him, etc. A large part of America doesn't even know who the heck Jimmy Fallon is. Get out there, sell yourself to these people and win them over!
Instead, he jumped into jokes about current events/news and they weren't even funny. He's gotta learn how to milk a joke for all it's got. I saw him tell the joke, say the punchline, look at the audience and wait for a reaction, then awkwardly go into the next joke. It was painful to watch :-x
The sketches are just trash. Seriously. It's the first week of the show, you've had a while to prepare, these sketches/skits better be great because you want to make your impact early. But they were trash. I hope these writers can do better than this!
The positives? Well, once you watch Fallon a little more, you see that he does have some potential. He looks the part of a late-night host. I can picture him, five years from now, settled down and running the show smoothly. I watched a clip of Conan O'Brien's first episode in 1993 on Youtube and he came a LONG way. So yeah, I think given time, Fallon will be better.
How about The Roots??

As you may know, I am a huge fan of the Roots, one of the best acts in Hip-Hop. Organic Hip-Hop, as people call it. ?uest Love, if you don't know - is the band leader with the huge afro, and I can see him becoming Fallon's version of Max Weinberg. Black Thought AKA Tariq, is one of the best lyricists in the game.
I'm glad the Roots are using this show to get their shine. The Roots are good for Hip-Hop and for the state of Rap music.
That's all for now, payce!
